Getting Started on ROKO Mobi

ROKO Mobi mobile plug-ins and SDKs are pre-built functionality that are ready to be integrated into your app in less than a day in 6 quick steps! Remember you can try it for free up to 10,000 users.

First you’ll need to sign up for an account and register your app.

• STEP 1: SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT. In order for your developer to integrate this functionality and for you to have access to the portal you’ll need to sign up for an account. Simply go to the ROKO Mobi Portal here and sign-up for an account by entering your name, email address, and company name.

  

• STEP 2: REGISTER YOUR APP. When you go to the Landing Page, click “Settings”. Tap the New App button. Register your app with ROKO Mobi. Name your app, add your app icon, and select the platform you are currently using. Finally, select the ROKO mobile plug-ins/SDKs that you would like to use. (Please note, we are currently supporting iOS for all SDKs, but supporting both iOS and Android for the Sticker SDK only.)

  

  If you would like to integrate ROKO Push, you’ll see a new section on the page once you check the Push component, titled: Apple Support and/or Android Support:. You’ll need to upload certificates / API keys from each platform. Your developer should have this information on hand.

  

• STEP 3: CHOOSE COMPONENTS & GENERATE YOUR API KEYS

  Once you name and describe your app, select the platform (e.g. iOS, Android) and the components you’ll need (e.g. Promo, Push, Share, etc.) to integrate.

  GCM API KEY:

  To obtain a GCM API key:

  1. Open the Google Developers Console.
  2. In the sidebar on the left, select APIs & auth > Credentials.
  3. If you haven’t created an API key, click Create new key and create one (Type: Server key, IPs: Any IP allowed).
  4. You can find the API key. You will need the API key to authenticate.
  
  

  PLEASE NOTE:

  For iOS: upload the Apple Push Certificate (this should be a .p12 file) and Certificate Password

  For Android: upload the GCM (Google Cloud Messaging)

  Once you click the Save button. Your API key will be generated.

  

  API keys allow your app to “talk” to the ROKO Mobi platform. This will allow you to see data and analytics generated by the plug-in. For example, if you integrate ROKO Push, you can see things such as what notifications went out and to whom. If you are not the developer, copy and paste these API Keys and keep them for your developer.

• STEP 4: SEND YOUR API KEYS, ACCOUNT INFORMATION, AND DOCUMENTATION TO YOUR DEVELOPER. Now that you’ve registered your app and generated your API Keys, you’ll need help from your developer to integrate them in your app. Tap the button below and enter your developer’s name and email address so that you may provide them with all the information they need to integrate ROKO Push into your app.

• STEP 5: SET UP ROKO USERS AND ANALYTICS. In order to get information on the ROKO Mobi platform you’ll need to set up user management and custom analytics. After ROKO Users and Analytics are set up, this will allow members of your team to easily access user information, run targeted campaigns, and get behavioral data without using development resources.

• STEP 6: CUSTOMIZE ROKO MOBI TO FIT YOUR NEEDS. ROKO Mobi can be customized to fit the needs of your business. Set up an appointment with your developer and fill out the discussion checklist provided before you meet with him/her. This discussion will allow your developer to properly integrate the mobile plug-in and help both of you avoid wasted time for integrating ROKO Mobi.
